Abbess Juvenalia (in the world, Tamar Marjanishvili, sister of Kote Marjanishvili) was the mother superior of Bodbe Monastery from 1902-1906. Her work was distinguished by the protection of national identity during the challenges of imperialist Russian policy. Through her efforts, the Georgian language became mandatory in the Bodbe women's school. She also established church services and chanting in the Georgian language.
